Job Type: Regular employee or contract
Location: East Region, Puerto Rico
Work shift: Monday to Friday 8 am – 5 pm; project and/or on-call extended hours may be required.
Job Description:
- Design, program, simulate and test automated machinery or processes that are intended to complete a specific task.
- Assist in the creation of detailed design specifications and other documents.
- Design, engineer, test, and troubleshoot control systems.
- Interface with management, other engineers, and teams.
- Help by consulting to streamline client operations for efficiency, cost saving, safety, and reliability.
- Maintain technical project files.
- Implement and test design concepts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
- 1 year manufacturing/pharmaceutical experience.
- In lieu of professional work experience, university projects or coop programs related to automation may be considered.
- Knowledge of design, specification and implementation of software and/or hardware systems.
- Understanding of controls architecture and networking (ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet) and process controls.
- Understanding and experience in industrial electrical control systems, servos, inverters, machine and systems architecture and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Knowledge of Automation Systems, Mechanical Processes, and Process Control Systems.
- Must possess a proficiency in Software Development – PLC programming, IO Configuration, HMI programming and computer communication systems and network protocols.
- Knowledge and a level of proficiency of the following software platforms:
- Rockwell Automation – RSLogix5, 500, 5000, RS View, Factory-Talk SE/ME, RS Batch.
- Aveva (Wonderware) – System Platform, InTouch HMI, InBatch.
- GE Intelligent Platforms – iFix, PAC Systems, QuickPanel
- Windows operating systems, Windows Server, Terminal server, Thin Client computing, MS Office, SQL, SQL Reports, Ethernet networks, Routing, VPN, Remote access
- Knowledge of Alarm Management, Data Historian, OEE.
- Proficient knowledge of computer system life cycle concepts and FDA regulatory requirements, including 21 CFR Part 11.
- Fully fluent in English.
