Carlos E. Ceinos

Carlos has extensive experience in manufacturing, technology, and product transfers for the biopharmaceutical industry. He began his career with Merck Sharp & Dohme as Process Engineer then moving through different leadership positions including Manufacturing Manager and Technical Services Director within the company in Puerto Rico and Latin America. He later moved to Novartis Consumer Health as Site Leader of their manufacturing plant in Humacao.

Carlos has been recognized for his contribution to the Island’s pharmaceutical sector as Manufacturer of the Year, East Region by PRMA, as well by the local engineering community, receiving the Excellence in Chemical Engineering Award in 2008 and Distinguished Chemical Engineer in 2011 by CIAPR.

He currently is a member on the board of directors at Industry University Research (INDUNIV), Puerto Rico’s Manufacturing Association (PRMA), and in the Disciplinary Board of Professional Ethics at the Puerto Rico College of Engineers and Surveyors (CIAPR). Previously, he has served on the board of directors of the Pharmaceutical Industry Association (PIA) as vice-chairman.

Carlos has a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer.
